![]() ![]() If it is important to include the GW component on a small scale with deep GW, can you set up the groundwater compartments to model interflow without observed data to calibrate to?.Should the groundwater component only be used when GW is relatively close to surface and/or could discharge to an onsite feature (stream or pond)?.Is SWMM?s groundwater component important in modeling predevelopment conditions at a subdivision scale or should this be limited to a watershed level?.We are modelling using discrete storm events, do not have a hydrogeological investigation completed for the site and in my opinion the groundwater function is probably not relevant for the site but wanted to put the question out to the group. Field verified saturated hydraulic conductivities exceeding 1000 mm/hr, average for the whole site K = 244 mm/hr soils are sands with less than 10% silt.between 13.6 m and 17.6 m to the seasonal high groundwater levels from the existing surface.no surface water features of any kind (streams, ponds etc) - gently rolling ~ 3% slope.126 ha in size, currently 65% forest 35% agricultural lands (row crop/corn).I have been asked to investigate incorporating both to determine what effects it might have on the runoff. ![]() ![]() I have a 126 ha subdivision development site in Springwater Township (north edge of Barrie) in Ontario and have set up a PCSWMM model which currently does not include the groundwater or aquifer function. ![]()
